I did my application all on my own as I'm almost 2 hours from my recruiter and was not reimbursed for travel to write the CFAT (I saw others being reimbursed but I wasn't called up and wasn't about to ask for money when I'm trying to be hired). When I submitted my paperwork I was told that my #2 trade required a specific degree that I don't possess (Forces.ca just told me that a recruiter will assess whether my degree is applicable, I guess it's not, the official just said "You need ___ degree.") and for my #3 I had selected "General Officer Entry" which he looked at and said, "Oh, that doesn't really exist anymore...". My first trade is highly competitive and apparently not even open at the moment.
Long story short, I'm regretting my choices and not sure if I should wait for my results to speak with a recruiter. I just found out that they will actually take calls to discuss options (from the voicemail message saying "If you are applying, hang up and send an email" I assumed they were only interested in discussion if you showed up in-person) so I'm willing to do that but generally very confused about the process.
