Back in 85-86 the outgoing Chaplain General, then Captain Bourque, was my neighbour in the Lincoln pmq's in Calgary. He was such a quiet, gentle man that it's hard to believe that he made it to the rank of BGen. Although I guess you don't have to be rah rah and gung ho to be successful as a padre  :D

OTTAWA – Brigadier-General Stanley G. Johnstone was appointed today as Chaplain General of the Canadian Forces.  The installation of Brig.-Gen. Johnstone was celebrated during an installation ceremony at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Ottawa.

“I welcome Brig.-Gen. Johnstone’s appointment and installation as Chaplain General,” said the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Rick Hillier.  “He and all Canadian Forces chaplains have a key role to play in ensuring spiritual leadership for all Canadian Forces members and their families.  Their guidance also contributes significantly to our operational effectiveness.”

“As spiritual leaders we have the opportunity to play an integral part in the lives of service members,” said Brig.-Gen. Johnstone, “and through cooperation with many faith communities we will continue to provide spiritual guidance to all service personnel, regardless of denomination or faith.”
