Joining CSR or 11 Field hospital (reserve, Infantry/Combat Medic) w/o losing my job?

How can I join the reserves, my employer does not have a policy wrt military service. I would require approval for unpaid leave, which is given at (essentially the queens whim), Human Resources pleasure.

So you work for the government already then, right? In that case, it‘s usually easy to get time off. Ask the recruiter at the unit you are joining about the Canadian Forces Liason Council: they will try to help you work it all out.

If you work for the government of Canada there is a TB directive mandating time off for reserve service.
