Little CF experience - Need Direction to become pilot

** Reposting After some editing **

Good Day All,

I need a little direction.

Background:
I am currently part of an Army Reserve unit however I did not complete BMQ. While I was not expecting to be in my current full-time job when I applied to the CF. However, I thought I could handle both at the same time. Literally, started my new full-time job on a Thursday and swore in to the CF on a Friday. I enjoyed what little BMQ and introduction to the CF i had, but demands from the full-time job started to pile up and conflicting schedules became a big problem. I even did a whole weekend of BMQ while on call for my full-time job (stupid of me). But made me realize I needed to make a decision and the full-time job won. But not by much.

I am a year and 6 months in to full-time job but always have a daily nagging urge to complete being part of the CF and move in to the occupation I've always wanted. Pilot. (Last I heard we're not hiring pilots right now, but I am more then willing to be patient to make it happen) I am studying the qualifications and commitments it entails and feel more and more like it is the right
path for me.

Should I/Do I have to:
#1 - Complete my BMQ + additional training as required with my Army Reserve unit. And attempt a res-to-reg + occupational xfer
#2 - Resign from the CF and reenroll as a pilot.

I suspect #1 is the better and most likely answer.
With #2 while it might be a cleaner entry path. I run the risk of being out of the entire CF and possibly not getting back in.

Additional question:
Which one do you think would take longer?
Has anyone ever dropped out of BMQ then come back?
Turning 30 an issue in applying as a pilot/officer? (legally I know it isn't but you're perspective on if it presents a challenge would be helpful)

Much appreicated for taking the time to read and respond. The knowledge on this site is extensive and I suspect your contributions on here do more for enrollment then the marketing on TV. (though those commericals ain't bad)

TechInArms,

As we advise most people who come here with introductory questions about how to join to Component transfer, your best first place to go is the Recruiting Centre. Also, I would suggest you start reading everything you can find here regarding Component Transfer (especially where it relates to how long people can wait for it to happen), and about selection and training to be a pilot (of which there are many threads, it is to be a popular choice and topic of discussion).

You will likely find that rushing to quit your current unit in hopes of enrolling as a pilot will not get you into an ejection seat any time soon. Your biggest choices in the near term will be concerned with keeping yourself busy and motivated during the (possibly) years before you even get a chance to fly if you get through all of the intermediate requirements.  Search, read, and consider before you make any sudden decisions.
