Would anyone happen to know when the CF officially dropped the M61 grenade from its equipment?  I know the M67/C13 has been around since the late 60's, but the use of the M61 continued, I thought.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well they where still discussed on my recruit and basic in 1987...
Along with the V40 -- but I've only thrown M67's.

Thank you very much, Infidel.

I knew they were still in the U.S. manuals in 1988 as well.

I'd thought the C13 designation went back further than it actually does, too.

I first experienced C13 grenades in 2002 in Afghanistan and found near a 50% failure rate. :o On return to Canada it wasn't much better for a few years. The last grenade range I ran in 07 saw 205 grenades thrown and 0 duds. Hopefully whatever problems the C13 had have been sorted out and we'll continue to see a rate of near 0% duds.

Ya, I'd heard about the dud rate for the C13's.  >:(

Here's to hoping things are sorted out.

My recriut course in 77 used M61 and I think the M36 or similar, a couple of years later we had the M611 and M67

1984 we trained with M61 dummy grenade but threw the " new" M67 Grenades (even V40 was apparently a no non by then), as the FNC1A1 grenade launcher was capable of using the M61, by 1987 we fired only HCC1A1 smoke grenades from the C1 grenade launcher as that's all that would fit on it left in the inventory. No an answer but there was a provision for use of the M61 in '84.
