Microprocessor's in running shoes?

The processor controls a sort of servo that cranks a gear, that controls the firmness of the heel. It is a spaceage idea. The thought is that running on grass, dirt and asphalt require different firmness in the heel to absorb the shock of heel strike. Runs off an oversize watch-type battery.

VERY PRICEY

Am i buying a pair????  Nope. Adidas has other great shoes too.

There are lots of great shoes out there to run in.
Asics, New Balance, Nike, Saucony to name some of the leaders.

Look after your feet, they take care of your knees, hips and back.
The more you run, the more you should invest in a solid pair of running shoes.
Something between $100 and $150 should suffice for most active runners. (3-10k 3 times a week)
Any more running and start by looking in the $ 130 range and up.

Use them only for running, this allows the cushioning material to recover between uses this extends the life of the shoe.

Get something with heel and forefoot cushioning.

10-4 on that one Frankie,

Personally I find the Nike 2:45 Shox to be an awsome shoe! Had flat feet before, managed to drop a couple pounds spent the extra cash for the Nike's, doc thinks i was wearing ortho's haha.

2:45 is a good shoe, for that cash i wold get the higher end Asics, the Nimbus for me. Every shoe fits a little different, make sure you try on a couple differtent makes and models. I fine the Asics a little  more roomy in the toe than the 2:45
As i stated earlier, lots to chose from, make sure you get a shoe with heel and forefoot cushioning.

If you use or-thotics, make sure you take them with you when you go to buy your shoes, save you a trip back to store when you get them home and find the ortho's don't fit. Another thing, if you have an or-thotic to control pronation, make sure you don't get a pronation control shoe, this would cause an over-correction, and lead to probems.

When you get there, use the staff, they know the shoes... the good ones will be able set you up right.

If possible, avoid the Nike shop, nothing against Nike, but you cannot try on the latest from New Balance/Asics at the Nike store.

New Balance 766, Asics 1100, 2100, shox 2:45, Saucony Grid Shadow, a few to try.

Question of the hour>... what does the 2:45 stand for?

MikeF...just pull out your insole, and let us know.
