Periodically we are running into Crewmen in unusual places or loosing track of where they all went.  Some are being real 'Recce Soldiers' and disappearing into the woodwork.  Where have some of them gone and what are they up to today?

Me, I am leaving the RCD and heading to Ottawa.  It is strange to be here after all these years and my only plans right now are to prep my house in Pet for sale and move everything to the house in Ottawa.  After that, my only long term plan at the moment is to live to be 120 and chasing nurses around the Hosp in my hover chair.  What I am going do in between I have yet to decide.

Sooooo.......Where have they all gone?

Lost but making good time,
I retired last year (2003) while serving in Trenton with J NBCD coy. Now living in the North Toronto Area.
During the warm weather months I am conducting aquatic species research (fishing) in my spare time. Cold weather months, barley and hops inspector (liquid form) But I will show up here to add my.02 cents worth when needed.
I hope others will take the time to keep us updated as to their wherabouts upon departure.

Well Fellas
Here at the school, there's about 6 boys on the way out. Between last yr and 06, the Corp will be short. We have 3 yr WOs, 2-3 yr Sgts and for MCpls/Cpls well you know. I have a list is can send after, but not publicly post. If I was not on IPS, I be gone too.
Merry Christmas! Yes Christmas, I'm not politically correct!

Andy!!!

Good to hear from you, and very glad to hear that retirement is going well.

For all concerned, the RCD Association is still going (though maybe not as strong as it could be)...lots of good folks have their e-mail address on line there.

Merr Christmas to all!

Cheers-Garry

I notice a few are lurking here; such as Dave Mason, Martin Gasser, Dave Winterburn, Andy and you.  Within the Regiment we can find Franko and a couple of others contributing to various threads.  Perhaps we should all pay our dues and host a reunion here.... ;D

GW

Martin's here?  :o

The man is following me from another 'grate' site.

Regards

Martin

I see you have wandered in from TankNet.  I guess you aren't getting enought debate there for your PolliSci courses at Carlton, eh?

Did T19 follow you over?

GW

Funny thing is - Martin is in one of my PoliSci clases.. I dont think the majority of the class is much match for his argumentation; however.

I see Tom Falls has joined our little gang of internet addicts.

I was talking to Gerhardt Neuman the other day and told him about this site.  Wonder if he'll lurk someday and comment eventually?

It is good to see so many names I still remember after all the brain cells that got killed off in Germany.... (only the weak ones mind you)

Anyone remember Herbies Gasthaus?

Randy,
Good to hear from you. I took up serious fishing upon retirement. (working on tournaments now) It keeps me out of trouble :P.
I hope you and your family are doing well. I see you are still in the Meaford area. I will be on the move again as I found some land out toward Rainy River ON. Nice place, includes a lake so I'm off again. (I'll have to purchase a few New Brunswick dinner jackets  :D) Hopefully this will be the second to last move as the last one will be basement apartment 6' down at the local cemetery.
I heard that Spike retired is he still up that way?
Too bad we didn't touch base, all the best

Andy

Hey, we're getting quite the gathering here.

Hi, all!

I remember Herbies quite well, thankyou.......

Germany?.....Were we in Germany?...

Yes "Lance on the forward fifties", :-)  it's me, here in the electronic flesh, no less!

if Gerhard shows up, it is partly my fault.  I told him to buy a computer to surf Cdn Firearms Digest.

Tom

Gerhard can use a computer?

I'm sure that all of us have some vague memories of Germany, back when the leo's were new, and we actually conducted recce....., and we actually had combat teams.........

He's a darn good shot with a .22/250, but I won a case of beer from him using an FN. We had a bet: tightest gp at 100 yds in a gravel pit using Aussie L1A1s.  The back site fell off mine, so I had to borrow his rifle to beat him.  It took me a year to collect the beer.  I told him I had to go to the beer store in Pet, and when I pulled into the parking lot  I said "Welllllllllllllll.....?"  He asked "Well what?"  Then he had to help me drink it of course, plus, he picked the brand...

Tom

Hi Lance,

Herbie was an interesting guy.  I did spend some time in his Gasthaus.. but he was family after I married his daughter....

For the life of me i can not remember the name of the bar that Al and his wife ran... Barry was his son.  I did spend some quality time in that establishment as well as the Hansa Stube downtown.

I read a post on here that Spike retired.. I thought he would be in forever.

Like I said.. a lot of memorable names...

..Marderwpg

Are you talking about Sonja's?

Hey, we met in Germany, in Herbie's Gasthaus.  I was in Germany from 79-84.

Tom,
It seems to me I can recall a story about a shortcut you took through the polizei academy compound with Gerhardt.
Speaking of the groundhog murdering king, I havn't been able to keep up with his whereabouts? I fully expected to find out he worked for Canada post and would hear about him on the 11:00 pm news ;D
Do you remember the story about pouring gas down the woodchuck holes? apparently when he regained conciousness after the explosion,   he failed to get a confirmed kill................... still gripes about that one.

Andy

P.S Lance did you ever run into Leroy? Just wondering how he's making out
