Hello,

I need some clarifications regarding the references. I've already had appointments and I could've asked those questions during that time, but unfortunately I forgot to do so. In fact, I've only noticed the discrepancy on the online form and the documents that was sent to me by the unit I've been in contact with, after I was told to update my online profile (My enrolment process was actually mostly done offline, in person).

Here's the thing, when I went online to update my profile's reference section, it says: "A valid reference is defined as an adult that knows you well enough to provide a worthwhile, fair and adequate assessment about your personal character. The reference check must cover the last 5 years and you may use more than one reference to cover this duration. Out of the five-year reference checks, at least a period of 1 year (cumulative or continuous) must be covered by either a professional or educational reference."

The references are categorize as follow:

Educational references: former or current teacher, professors, coaches, instructors, or trainers.

Professional references: former or current supervisors, managers, foremen, advisors, or employers.

Personal references: friends, neighbors, co-workers, peers, landlord. (Does not include family members or extended family) ******

..But when I tried entering my personal references (some of them being neighbors) and after I chose "Personal" as the type, there's another subgroup that needs to be specified within that personal category. The problem is, it only gives "Employer, Minister, Clergyman, Mentor, Counsellor, Community Leader" as options...

So where do I put neighbors as a reference? It seems like a contradiction to me since on the reference page, it state that neighbors are accepted as personal references, but there's no sub-section for them.

Even more confusing, this is a screenshot from an automated email that was sent to me after my appointments with my unit, in preparation for the final steps.

So as you can see, here it states the neighbors aren't accepted for references, even though in the online form, the reference section says that they ARE accepted.

Could someone please clarify? I'm confused.
