I've had my fair share of issues, arguments etc with neighbours over the years. Live and let live is my motto but some people just take the p*ss.
I once had one whom I asked if he minded if I built a fence at the front of my house. He amiably approved and consequently I built it. It was a really nice executive metal fence with arrow heads. However, his wife started complaining that it made her house look small. I told her that the only small thing was her mind.
Next they said that my fence was an inch on their land, so I paid 200 hundred pounds to move it several inches my way. Then they approached the builders whom I also spoke ton and asked if there were any rules about this. Thankfully there wasn't. The builders said they were being pathetic and truly I had to agree.
Anyway a long story short: They later moved !!!
My other new Neighbors are cool. They're jehova witnesses too so I hope they never find out about the time I once threw my dog at one of their kind when they knocked on my front door!!
Mind you, they like the fence. 
Basically my motto is, I'm there if you need me and not if you don't, please apply same and mind your own bloomin business.
