I don't know how this all works but assuming that I make it through BMQ and finish my MOC training to be a vehicle technician what other courses could I do? either relating to being a vehicle tech or anything else, example would they help me learn another language (I would like to learn German but don't know how useful it would be) and is it possible after serving as a vehicle tech for awhile to be able to switch what my job is? if so what would you have to do how long does it take? is it something that's common?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but its worth a try and any help would be appreciated.

Look on the forces website under veh tech and it will show you some of the available specialty training.

And yes you can do an occupational transfer down the road, but its easier said then done so make sure you actually want to be a veh tech before you join.

Went hiking out in Kananaskis this summer... They made us watch Bear Awareness videos. I know it's something to be serious about but watching that lady holding her arms up going "WHOA Bear... Whoa..." was absolutely hysterical. The Sergeant didn't think so...  ;D

Can I decide if I want to go in these courses or do they have to choose me? and is there a web site where I could see all the courses?

I LOVE "Whoa bear!"
Watched that in wildland firefighting, always a crowd pleaser.

"If the bear begins eating you, it is no longer a defensive attack and has become predatory, you sold now defend yourself!"

It really depends on what your looking to do in your career. If you go to a training org like Saint Jean you maybe able to get many courses that aren't apart of your trade. Myself for example, although I'm Class B Res. I'm been teaching basic in Victoria since 2007. I'm Arty by trade however I also have my Rappel Master, Crowd Confrontation Instructor Course, First Aid Instructor, Light Urban Search and Rescue, among many other things. Many for me it's just been right place right time. It really depends on what your doing and who your working for. But if you are interested in something ask usually isn't a bad start.
