Wasn't there, but I read about an incident:
"In one potentially dangerous incident at Haji Beach, a Bravo Company soldier made a fart joke that proved so offensive to the ANCOP that the aggrieved Afghan reached for his weapon and, for a few brief moments, it actually looked like armed violence was going to break out.":

This is poor manners in just about any culture, not just Afghanistan.
