Personal Effects Storage on Attach Posting

Good morning all

I'm sorry to post a thread for something that I might be able to find with some Googling, but I'm under a bit of time pressure.
I'm an ROTP cadet at RMC, just finished third year. Following a long and complicated involvement with the medical system, the EXPRES test, my managing authority, and CFLRS, I received a posting message last night sending me on an attach posting to St Jean for WPC, followed by a DEO BMOQ platoon that finishes in February. After this, I should be going to phase training, and returning to RMC in Sept 2012. I leave tomorrow morning.

My question has to do with my accumulated personal effects. Normally, I'd leave them in the barracks storage at RMC during summer training, but I probably won't be back for fifteen months. Does St Jean have any sort of long-term storage available for people training there, and would it be accessible to someone on attach posting?

If I were you, the first thing I would do is speak with the Pers Admin O and confirm you will still be in the ROTP program and returning to RMC at all. I have never heard of someone skipping a whole academic year to do training and then returning.

After you reslove this, then worry about what to do with your stuff.

I've already spoken to the Chief Instructor about it, and the reason is that RMC (or someone in Borden, I'm not sure who's making the decision) wants all cadets to complete BMOQ before entering 4th year. Thanks to the aforementioned medical issues, I spent my first two summers doing OJT, and thanks to a mysteriously cancelled posting message and a failed EXPRES test (right after coming off chit) I missed the start date for the RMC BMOQ serial, so the decision is to put me on Warrior Company and then the first available DEO BMOQ serial. The same is being done for at least one other OCdt with a similar history. Unless the Maj was intending to deceive me, I am definitely continuing the ROTP in 2012.

That being said, I'm probably just going to leave everything in storage at RMC and come back on a leave weekend if anything needs to be sorted out.

I've seen it happend before with ROTP civi U members.  One individual i particular left his belongings in civi storage.  You may be able to get the military to pay for it, he was.

I was about to suggest the same thing.  If there's another guy in the same boat as you why not pool your resources?
