Anyone know what Magyar’s position is vis a vis Ukraine, Russia, etc? Or is he promising to be a better version of Orban?

From this, it appears his party is significantly more friendly regarding UKR joining the EU.

And from what I understand Magyar is in general more pro-western (EU / NATO).
