I am 18 years old and in first year university. I am hoping to join the reserves for fall 2007. I was just wondering about the process if after university (3 years) I wanted to join full time to go overseas, or how that works to go overseas. If anyone has anything hints, information, or tips I would appreciate it. I am just new to this and wondering how you would go from reserves to actually going overseas.

Anything will help.

Thanks

Once you are in the reserves, you can ask the operations/training folks at your unit about going overseas, and they'll give you all the info you need.

In the mean time, there's plenty of info around, check out the TF 3-08 page (http://www.army.gc.ca/tf-3-08/soldier-reserve-activation.html) to see what's currently involved for reserve soldiers from Ontario planning on going on one of the the next rotations to Afganistan. Keep in mind, that in 3 years the process might be a bit different.
