I am doing my PT and aptitide test this coming monday on May 10th (wish me luck) :gunner: . I was just wondering how long you have to wait to redo a test (aptitude/physical) if you fail. Thanks

they make you wait a couple of months... It‘s basically just enough time to make sure that you can get your pt up to par. Before you go for your pt just make sure that you at least make the minimal standards... good luck. are you going regular force or reserves and which trade???

I failed my first PT test, and I wasn‘t told a minimum amount of time I had to wait. I got a call the very next day from the recruiter and was asked "how long do you think you need?"

I always thought it was six months, however I am proven wrong. I ended up doing my fitness test back in October and did quite well. Six months pass and I just did it a second time because my first one expired. I think it‘s a bit ironic. Don‘t worry about the PT test, just do your best, I went in there with my palms so sweaty that the meter fell out of my hand during the grip test, but I passed and felt really positive. If you fail it, work on what you did well, and work harder on what you did poorly on. That‘s my advice to you, enrollee to enrollee. Good luck.

I believe there may be some confusion here over the allowed or required times between successive tries on the CFAT, the fitness test and the delay incurred before med testing after drug use.

Perhaps Koach can define each of these from current CFRG regulations in a single post for future reference.

Thanks.

Does any one know how long the wait is to renew everything. I know the P.T. test is good for 6 months. I think the aptitude test is good for life. Medical? 1 year? Interview 1 year?

Thanks for the replies. I‘m going for reserves for time being until I graduate from school; I‘m currently in grade 11. Joining the Queen‘s Own Rifles (Infantry).. I am a patient kinda guy, but the only problem is that this test is probably the last for the people who are trying out for this summers‘ course. I am pretty sure that I‘m going to pass, because I can do the minimal requirements, but I‘m just curious because I heard many people worried too much and usually screwed up. So if I fail this, I‘m probably going to have to wait until next year. :(

I have two colleagues in the CFAT fail bin... they were both given a 3 month wait to redo.

Keep in mind that this was the CFRC Toronto... and I‘m not sure about another CFRC.

Not the Koach:

PT test - re-test policy is up to you. It costs recruiting ctr 25$ for each test, we cover the first, after that it is up to you to pay. So if you have 25$ and want to do it again the next day, have at it. Expires after 6 months and we will pay for a re-test to get your file current for an offer (but not if you failed the first).

Physical, is good for one year.

CFAT - now it is for life, if you wrote since jan 04. The re-test policy is that you should be able to prove some form of upgrading before a re-write. After that it will rest with Ottawa and you will have to prove to everyone in the chain that there is a good reason for you to be given a third chance. (Got your PHd since second test).

If you fail your PT test, they will tell you to take it again in about a month, and they will tell you to work out and improve for that month so you pass it next time, and you indeed have to pay exact change for the retest.
