So, after spending about 2 hours reviewing the forum, searching topics etc. I am still unable to find anything that really helps with myconcern. So here is my dilemma.
I know through the application process a credit check will be performed, I am also very well aware that negative credit history seems to be viewed inappropriate but I had read "Substantiation (in writing) why you incurred these debts and from what/when." So my questions arise from that.
In 2005 I had taken a student loan to complete a trades course, about 1 week after starting my course, I had bank fraud commited on my account(The night bc student loans submitted my loan ). I was unable to press charges etc so am responsible for the balance of the loan. needless to say with minimal income, I have been unable to refrain from defaulting on the loan. I take full ownership for the lack of payments, however some circumstances have been out of my control.
does anyone have any insight to how this could impact my application?
Is this letter written by me?
Would it be beneficial to write the letter ahead of time and perhaps submit to the recruiting center to avoid processing delays?
Any " positive" imput is appreciated. I know this is self inflicted however, I am trying to better my situation by joining the CAF and would hate for this to be my deciding factor.
Thank you again.
