Figured this was the most appropriate forum for this, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I've been offered my second contract and am currently leaning towards declining it. I just had a few quick questions that I hope could be answered here.

1. How much time are you entitled to on unemployment after your first 3 year contract?
2. Does anyone have any know of any specific resources (military or otherwise) that helped steer them towards their post-military career? (career transition / counselling, etc.)
3. Is their any services through the military I could I could be entitled to use? (through the BPSO etc.) I was aware that some career transition services offered through the military are only eligible for those who have a certain amount of time in / a tour. Anyone able to expand on that?

Thanks.

Contact the BPSO for info on when their next SCAN (Second Career Assistance) seminar is.  As far as EI goes, not certain - those are best handled by making an appintment with a clerk in the Release section at your BOR.

I hope you have a plan of some sort because, if you are thinking of getting out now, you should have been asking those questions about 2 years ago.

Good luck.
