Man you sure are quick to put your mouth in gear.
How do you know that I am not retired and served for about 22 of the best
Joined in 50 .left in 72.
I have very little faith in the leaders of today‘s army.
I don‘t think that there is any occupation either in the military or in the
real world
that does not require a team effort
But the effort should start at the top and continue down.

Listen, you have been retired for almost 30 yrs...What do you know about
todays military? Do you believe everything you read in the newspapers?
Why do you not have any faith in the leaders of today‘s army? Is that
Officers and NCOs?
You want to complain about the army and its leadership, back your
comments up with some type of proof! Do you realize that your
generation is responsible for the current senior leadership officer and
NCM that is in place today Heck, you trained them...what did you do
wrong?.
So me some examples and I will agree to what you are saying, otherwise,
you are merely indicative of someone who believes everything was great
"back in the old days". Guess what, it wasn‘t.

You have misread, I have NOT been retired for 30 years but am presently
serving and have been for 32 years. At present I am serving as a CWO. My
last position was RSM for 1 CSDHQ. At present I am the CELE Career Manager
OR. I am on orders as of the the 1st of May, as an Observer in the
British Zone in Bosnia attached to HQ Britforce. I feel that I do know
what is going on...both the good and the bad.
No, I only believe half of what I read in the papers, half of what people
tell me, especially if it is third party information.
You should also realize that the Forces today are a Military in transition.
We definitly have had a command problem at all ranks. But that has been
changing. We are not the same Forces that we were 5 or even 3 years ago.

John, I think we are getting the email mixed up. My comments were
directed toward a Robert Childs who stated some derogatory comments
about the CF very bottom of the email. My apologies if you thought
they were directed toward you haven‘t seen anything to argue with you
about.
Fully support your comments made below. I think you and I both realize
the amount of change that has occured in the army/military in the last
10 years. Some of it was forced and some of it was needed. There have
been command problems at all levels and there will be problems in the
future.
I‘m glad to see that you have the opportunity to go overseas as an
observer. NCMs are rather restricted in the overseas postions they can
get ie only with a unit, whereas, officers are able to fill the role
of UNMOs, etc.
Regards John ... as a gunner I have the utmost respect for those who
provide comms!

Gunner,
my mistake, no appology needed. Just call me a flag waver. I have a high
regard for Gunners! I spent some time with them in the old Airborne
Battery. I just get pissed at some of the disinformation out there.
Let me know if you need any info from NDHQ next week.
Keep the faith
