Hey man, in comms you can get a civi trade, ie. lineman. If you haven‘t
guessed it I am one. My ex-subordinate is now with telus and make 67 grand a
year working two weeks on, two weeks off. I would be doing that too, but I
going infantry officer. And yes transfers take forever, the better you are
the longer it takes, becasue they don‘t want to get rid of you.

person you are talking to belongs.

But the foundations of such a strong attitude trowards one‘s own Regiment
or Corps or Servioce can undermine an effective Army ethos:
"On joining, a young soldier or officer is motivated by a desire to please
and need to be accepted. Willingly, all tales of Regimental import are
accepted at face value. Regimental pride is developed, less through an
understanding of the regiment‘s values and mores, than through a relative
ignorance of those of the remainder of the army. One would never dare ask:
"If our Regiment is so good, and the others so bad, why do they remain on
the order of battle?" To do so would be to greet a stony silence, or a
brusque issuance of more mindless work to take one‘s attention away from
such frivolous comparisons. Why indeed, our Regiment is better because it is
the one we belong to!"

My new trade is supposed to be signals. Can you tell me something about that?
I don‘t really know about much communications.

Well first off thanks for the help.
The reason that I am going Inf officer from lineman is because when I joined I
didn‘t have access to this newsgroup, and i‘m pretty sure CELE would not be
the trade I am looking for. I have often felt that I should have been in the
infantry, however, I was a cocksure 17 year old looking to get into the
military and joined the first group I could. I don‘t regret the decision,
being a lineman is a great job, mainly because of the trade, I have a standing
offer to work for telus and make the big bucks. A good fall back job.
And for the second point, lineman are combat arms moc 052.

Just a question though? If you say it‘s good to get experience in a trade
as an NCM before going Officer, then why are you going Inf Off? I agree
completely with your previous statement, so why suddenly jump in as an
officer? Especially in a combat arms trade.

Since when? Last time I checked, only the infantry, armoured, artillery and
field engineers fell into that category.

Different were designated "‘Combat service support", maybe this is what he
