Hi, my name is Edwin, im 16 years old. I hope to join the air force some day but ive got a couple of questions that nobody has answered me yet.
Im an immigrant, i was born in Colombia and approx. two years ago i arrived in Canada as a refugee. 6 months ago we underwent our hearing, which we passed and since weve been waiting for the arrival of our resident cards. Since I came I thought of pursuing a career in the army because of the many benefits that come with it. I want to take the paid education program or ROTP because i dont wanna borrow money from anybody for my secondary studies. Im in 11th grade and im not sure if by the time i graduate i will be a citizen, so i want to know in case I wasnt if there was any way that they would sponsor to study in a civilian university meanwhile i do the procedures necessary to get my citizenship. I wanna study Aeronautical Engineering and if they wouldnt accept me i wanna know in which universities I should apply that could help me join the army later on. I dont wanna lose time and i wanna know all my options to see which will be the most beneficial for me in my situation. Any help or info is appreciated

No.

You must be a Canadian citizen to be enrolled in the CF. At one time, that only applied to the Regular Force, but now it applies to all components. The Army probably doesn't have much call for aeronautical engineers. The RCAF on the other hand...
