Those are all nice metaphors and assumptions, but the fact remains, Bush went into Iraq by selling fear to the American people. He told them Saddam helped terrorists, and was pursuing an active nuclear, biological and chemical weapons agenda, and already possessed mobile labs, and weapons in bunkers (complete with satellite photos with the usual "red circles" around the sites "known to have weapons")
As time went on, nothing was found, and suddenly the Bush administration tried to sell the idea that the weapons were moved to Syria. How can the US miss the movement of such a large amount of weapons which were being monitored by US intelligence and satellites? it doesn't add up.
Then when the proverbial shit hit the fan, and no weapons were in site, suddenly the whole war effort was shifted from "disarming Saddam and his WMD" to "Freeing the Iraqi people from a brutal dictator. A noble cause no less, but a little late to change your reason for war.
It doesn't surprise me they didn't find anything, and should answer for it.
