I am trying to find out exactly what happened prior to the death of my grandfather‘s cousin in France in 1944.
Lt Robert Arthur Nelson died on 28 August 1944 and is buried in Bretteville-sur-Laize. I understand he was killed in a wood west of Rouen having gone over to Caen in July 1944 and moving towards Rouen via Falaise. If anyone knows of any information about Bob Nelson or about his regiment‘s movements that month in 1944, or even if you knew Bob personally, I would love to hear. He has two brothers still living in Vancouver who would like to know more of their brother‘s last days.
Thanks
