I think maybe it is time for us to stand up and maybe keep an unoffical count here, and maybe that  will help show there is a problem and it is not just Reg Force and male problem.
I am deeply confused and ashamed that some soldiers do not count because it is too much work or too much trouble to count or track.
I know of one personally I guess will not count in the list. How many more are there?
Anything we can do to bring pressure on this matter with the CofC

The CF keeps stats on serving soldiers, male or female.  It even tracks reservists that are operating within the system.  Once a reservist comes home, goes back to Class A days, returns to school or civie job and moves on with life, unless there is an indication that a suicide is service related it's not as though we can start to tally numbers inaccurately.

Once someone is outside the military the CF has neither the capability or the resources to track such things.  If anyone it should fall to Veterans Affairs.  From there all stats get fed into Stats Can.  Even MP reports get fed through to Stats Can through the Canadian Criminal Justice System (CCJS) built into the report database.

???

I am confused.  What does your topic title mean: "Stats no kept on female or reservists suicides"?

Currently the Canadian Armed Forces and the Press are keeping track of all suicides, male and female, Reg Force and Reserve, as well as former members.  I am sure if you really wanted to, you could make an ATI request to either and get your stats.  It not being a "perfect world" there will always be people who fall through the cracks, and those who may have been labelled incorrectly, having been able to mask their suicide as something else.  At the same time, attempted suicides are also being tracked.

So?  Why this separate topic on a currently running discussion?
