Timeline from Interview to BMQ – SIGINT (Reg Force)

Hello everyone,

I’m currently in the process of joining the Regular Force and coming up on my interview anytime now. I’m applying for the Signals Intelligence Specialist trade and was hoping to get some insight from others who have gone through this process.

I’m trying to get a better idea of what to expect in terms of timeline from this point onward.

Specifically:

1. How long did it take after your interview/medical to receive your offer?
2. How long did your background check or reliability/security clearance process take?
3. Once you received your offer, how long until you were loaded onto BMQ?
4. If you applied to a trade that requires higher-level clearance (like SIGINT), did that noticeably affect your processing time?

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I’d appreciate any firsthand accounts or general expectations. Just trying to get a realistic sense of how long I might be waiting from here.

It can take you up to 3 years to obtain your clearance to start your trade training for that trade.
