First.. I am sorry if this ends up in the wrong area. Second this has probably been said a few times but I feel it should be said again.

I am in my final training phase at St. jean..

BEFORE you come to basic.. make sure that you can do MORE than just the minimum fitness requirements.  Dont just run 2.4 clicks. Dont just do the 20 push ups and sit ups. If you can thats ok but you may find basic harder than it has to be.

LISTEN to the instructors.  They are good at what they do.

DONT settle for doing anything half way.

Try to stick it out past 3 weeks.

Be ready for some shouting. Be ready for shorter nights.

Be ready to make good friends, to become fitter than you are, sore feet, stress, carrying loads up several flights of stairs. Be ready for nights at the Bistro...

I'm heading to St. Jean on the 21st of November....i'm only 17, I won't be able to get into a "bistro" till about my last week of BMQ...which will be my birthday  >:(

yeah and you will also save your money on couse if you can't drink trust me in that one guys go home after course and because they got that one or two weekends off there back accounts took a huge hit

This is all good advice, but why 3 weeks? Do a lot of people quit in the first 3 weeks?

Shades: What did the 5 fingers say to the face?

I'd say that 3 weeks is a bunch of bull cause if anybody quits I've seen it done at different stages during courses and that is usually due to them not being able to hack the current training being conducted during that phase of the course.

Man my head is bumpin.

Now that you mention it I think I'm bleeding inside my chest.

haha.. we had a guy that pissed in my laundry room one night on basic, he was so drunk he even went to sleep in his buddy's bed.. hahahaha good times!

As it has been said, I think it is a good thing for you not to drink. You'll be in better shape for the monday morning, believe me! I found those monday mornings quite hard when I had too much beer during the weekend.

BTW I think we lost like 20 people during the first 3 weeks.. wow

Also, we started out 60 on my plt and we were 35 at the graduation parade. Natural selection, they said .. lol

Cheers!
