I recently applied to ROTP at civilian university and the recruiter told me he would call back within two weeks.  He didn't (big surprise) so I went back to Victoria (from Ottawa) for  a week.  During the time I was gone he called 11 times trying to set up an appointment for an interview and aptitude test.  Am I in big trouble for being so unavailable?  Is this a bad way to start off?  Just want some feedback because by about the 7th message the recruiter left, he sounded really ticked off that I wasn't answering his calls.

You might have wanted to tell him that .. you were going to be going away you know.. left a message on his voicemail or something.

But hindsight is 20/20.. honestly I would say you should just call him or go see him in person and be straight with him, you waited, he didn't call. You left without giving him any notice and he called and that was why you missed it.

Just tell him everything, apologize for not letting him know you were going .. and try to start fresh?
