The CDS's musings in the article General frets about home front: Canadian commander worries that we 'are our own worst critics.' brings to mind the fact that so many of us here at Army.ca know and have experienced on oh so many numerous occasions.  Our own musings here on these forums are also taken in much the same way as his are.  Amongst those in the know, they are vocalizations of random thoughts on military matters that are voiced in discussions and in actual fact don't at all resemble the truth, but imagined possibilities.  They may be the thoughts of how to improve a SOP, or solve a problem, or what to have for lunch, that one mulls over in their mind and innocently voice as they ponder the solutions.

To the uninitiated and the Press, they can cause a furor and be totally misinterpreted or taken out of context.  I suppose it behoves us all to watch what we think, and say, and don't think aloud when in the company of non-Service members (especially members of the Press) who may not understand what we mean.

True enough.  One can carefully avoid violating OPSEC and still cause trouble.

truer words you'ld be hard pressed to find.
the press always gets a hard on when they can put
their own spin on a troopers words.. :salute:
