Mark,
I would suggest being nothing less than totally open about your knee. The recruitment/enrolement process will involve a medical examination at some point and you should be honest about your knee. Tell them what you think about it an let it be checked out professionally.
It will do no one any good to try and "hide" it, hoping to get through training. You may make it alright, but then again you may not and end up hurting yourself even more or beyond repair.
Above all, don‘t lie on any form. Good luck. Don
