What did I miss, Wheres quebec

I'm just listening to Paul Martin give a news conference on TV and he keeps referring to "Canadians and Quebecers".  What the hell? Did I miss something? Did Quebec separate from Canada? Are quebecers not considered Canadians?  My wife is french (from Quebec)....does she need a passport to live with me in Ontario 'Canada' now?


Also Martian just commented that he was pro choice but prefered to stick to topics regarding the election. Pro life or pro choice, good for him for taking a side and not sitting on a fence.

was he in Quebec when he said it, because when he comes to let's say Nova Scotia, he says, Canadians and Nova Scotian's, he is talking to the audience I would assume.

But its easy to see how many people could misinterpret what he said.
