What ever happen to the days when soldiers looked after other soldiers? Unfortunately, I have witnessed to many people stabbing their "friends/ coworkers" in back to many times. For what reason? Just to get ahead, just to look awesome in the eyes of others, just to look like there s*** doesn't stink.  They always come out shinning, despite how many lies they tell. Nothing is ever done about it because it's always a he said/ she said game. It's frustrating with no ends.
  It doesn't matter if people confront other people, they just coward away from it. Tell your supervisor about it, "they just reply, it's your problem". It almost gets to the point that you have to record every conversation!

Sorry all, just venting.. Probably not the place for it!
 
The simple solution is don't worry about what others say or do. Focus on your job and be the best you can be at it. The type of people you describe do exist in every workforce but most people can see through those types and people that have to work with them go about there own business the best they can. Stop worrying and getting caught up in what others say and do/don't say and don't do. You will be much happier.
