Can someone explain to me why the Nunavut Rangers are deployed in the north doing all these exercises because of Denmark? or is it? i dont know really is just cauught a glimpse on the news a little while back.
Canadian Rangers are reservists and belong military organization that supports the regular
forces and by extension sovereignty in the North. Their patrols are not soley because of
Denmark.
Bert is right. There are Ranger Patrol Groups (CRPGs) all across Northern Canada, and they are always going on exercise or operations. I wouldn't put too much credence in a suggestion that it is just because of Denmark. Cheers.
a little while ago the the Danish frigate Vaedderen landed troops and planted the Danish flag on Hans Island, we claim Hans Island as part of Canada and such it could be argued that the Danes 'invaded' us that day.
