Which reserve unit(s) have you been to,and which one do you think would be best for infantry?

So far I have talked to a recruiter at the British Columbia Regiment(Duke of Connaught‘s Own),sounds pretty cool. :tank: :cdn:

usually ppl think that there own unit is the best.
as to what unit to join, usually the closest armoury dictates that. living on Van.Isle. if i want to join an infantry unit, i have to go the CSCOTR or else travel for 4 hours on a ferry on parade night.

Depends on who the CO and RSM are. For 2 or 3 years in a row the SD&G Highlanders in cornwall ON had the most live fire excersises in canada, regular force and reserve wise.

The Seaforths got a new CO last year, and a new RSM shortly thereafter. Both of them are awesome and have been making training interesting, exciting and really really applicable. The RSM we got it a transfer in from the Westies and was formerly in the Rhodesian Light Infantry.

We also got a new OC in May who‘s a former British Para, and a new Warrant Officer who‘s former SAS and JTF2...

needless to say, next year‘s training year is going to be COOL! A bag drive, for sure, but still cool.

/my two cents about my favourite regiment ;)

the BCR‘s arent a Infantry unit, there Armoured Recce

the closest Infantry unit‘s to you would most likely be the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, I‘ve heard a lot of good things about them, an what Combat_Medic said above, sound‘s cool, your new OC‘s a ex SAS an JTF2, wow

then their‘s the Royal Westminister Regiment in New Westminister

I‘m in the 12th Service Battalion, located in RIchmond, BC, an I‘m enjoying myself in this unit a lot, lot of good people in it

Careful Combat Medic, that transfer in RSM was actually a Seaforth before he was either a Westie or an RLI.

It‘s Royal Wesminster Regiment DnA, watch your spelling. If you‘re gonna do it, do it right.

Danjanou: yeah I know. There‘s still a couple guys serving who knew him back when he was in the Seaforths before... WAY before.

As a correction, the RSM was not with the Rhodesians. He confirmed this to me at the Passhendale Dinner. It was with the South Africans.

Combat Medic,
Yeah I probably know some of those guys. After I left the unit I kept bumping into people on various courses over the years including your new RSM. We did our MWO course together. He topped it by the way.
