BOY USES GAMING SKILLS TO SAVE SISTER FROM MOOSE

If anyone ever has told Hans Jorgen Olsen that video games are a waste of time, they'll have to eat their words.

Olsen, 12, saved his sister from a moose using the knowledge he gained playing World of Warcraft, reports the Norwegian online newspaper Nettavisen.

The pair was walking through the woods in the central Norwegian town of Leksvik when they came face-to-face with an angry moose.

Olsen knew what he had to do, thanks to the countless hours spent playing WOW,a multi-player online role-playing game.

First, he taunted the animal to get it away from his sister. In WOW, players use taunting to get monsters off their less well-armed teamates. Then, when the beast came after him, he played dead, and the moose lost interest.

I mean good for the boy, fast thinking. I don't think WoW taught him to play dead though. I also don't think that going through his mind was "If I have a level 5 taunt i should be able to get his attention enough to ..........." more "Holy Crap a moose, its headed for my little sister! HEY OVER HERE!!!" as he was the older brother and felt he could get away/ take cover better.

Tricks of the trade on him self, then he feign death. This kid is a rouge!!!!!!

I tend to agree with Dex.  I think even someone who hadn't played WoW, might have done the same thing.

Good on the kid, though.

I would have just got on my epic mount and ran away.  Haha.

But seriously good for him.
