I‘ve just received war medals which look awful. I wish to make them look
new again and frame them. My first question is, can the ribbons of these
medals be replaced? Where can I order new ribbon for the following
medals, THE DEFENCE MEDAL, THE WAR MEDAL 1939-1945, THE FRANCE AND
GERMANY STAR, THE 1939-1945 STAR, CANADIAN VOLUNTEER SERVICE MEDAL.
Suggestions are gratefully accepted.

Voula, you can have the ribbons replaced in any militaria shop. I know of
one in London Ont, and Ottawa. Check out the yellow pages or Legion
magazine.

I‘m not sure where you‘re located but there is a great place in Buckhorn,
Ontario.

Hi Mike!
Does the place in Buckhorn also sell WWII uniform insignia? If not, where
can I purchase sgt. stripes, regiment flashes, year stripes, etc.?
Thanks very much

Bob,
Here‘s the contact info. - unfortunately I couldn‘t find a website for them.
Vimy Ridge Gallery
Hwy 507, N of Buckhorn
RR1 Lakefield
K0L 2H0
705-657-8763
I‘m not sure what all they have. My grandfather had his medals re-ribboned
and mounted before he passed them on to me, the above info. is from the
sticker on the back of the display case.
Good Luck,
Mike
