Political impacts of Ukraine war

Its not welcome in my view.

The Catholic Church should stick to be a church, and leave international politics to the secular powers. Many wars have been fought to keep the church out of politics.

At what level of hierarchy do you suggest that religious organizations (or individual religious leaders) refrain from involvement in politics? Is it only the white and red cassocked leaders of the Roman church or should it be an across the board abolition of any comment from a preacher? What should be an appropriate disincentive to silence those who want to mingle church with state?

I would have no problem with the removal of tax exempt status from any church whose "ministers" utter the words "I think" or "we should" about any social problem. Actually, I have no problem with the removal of tax exempt status from all churches, period.

If they can serve as a neutral third party to help bring about a lasting peace all the power to them.

Secular powers haven’t exactly got a great track record either, with the most notable being all the people killed under Communism in the last century.

Having an opinion, and engaging in state-on-state politics aren't the same thing in any way.

If the Atlantic Baptist Convention was a soverign state, and wanted to engage in state-on-state politics, I'd have the same opinion of their actions as well.

I'd still rather see them stick to having opinions, and engaging in spiritual matters.

The Western world fought lots of wars to get religion out of offical state business. I see no need to regress to having religion be a driver of politics.

How about keeping the socialists in check? ;)

Still not a safe world for pro-RUS former UKR political figures out there - especially those who might be, in the words of some UKR media, "controversial" ;) (FAFO, eventually?)
