Trump administration 2024-2028

I think it remains to be seen if the near unanimous approval of the Epstein release represents a fracturing of the GOP. There is speculation that more moderate Republicans will continue to oppose GOP bills, which could conceivably pave the way for potential impeachment after the mid-terms. Congress taking back its power over tariffs would be an additional indicator.

The Biden administration had the Epstein files. Considering everything that has been thrown at Trump over the years, do you think if there was anything harmful to Trump in the Epstein files which were under is opposition's control, it wouldn't have somehow managed to leak out? Given that, a reasonable guess is there is nothing that will harm Trump.

It represents Republicans calling the Democrats' bluff. One of the most useful pressure points in politics is the alleged scandal - there's something hidden there! To take away the hidden is to take away the pressure point.

This'll go through the same futile desperate squeeze as the Mueller report. First it was "we need the full report and we'll show Russian Collusion!". Then it was, "we need the unredacted report and we'll show Russian Collusion!". Finally it was, "selected members of Congress need the full report without the grand jury redactions and we'll show Russian Collusion!".

As long as there is some part of Epstein's correspondence that hasn't been fully publicly released, the conspiratorial wishful thinking will continue.

Investigators at the DoJ had the files, along with whatever was held locally in Florida etc, as there were multiple investigations and incidents. There was also active and ongoing court cases that more or less wrapped up when Epstein 'killed himself' and Maxwell went to prison.

Was anyone in the Biden administration promising to release the files while in charge? Maybe, I don't think so though.

Very different when you very loudly campaign on it and make it a point when in opposition, then do nothing once elected for over a year until it is a boiling point. Your whataboutism is largely reinventing history to suit the current narrative, from the same people that lied their asses off and flopped around from 'it's on my desk, and about to release it', to 'it doesn't exist and is a Democratic hoax'.
