Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

AOPS is probably not going there.
This article states it will be a Coast Guard "Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessel", not an RCN ship.
Anand said an Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessel will be present for the opening of the consulate in Nuuk next week. Her office said the vessel is a Canadian Coast Guard ship, not one operated by the Royal Canadian Navy.

Obviously it's not one of the two CCG AOPS since they haven't been delivered yet.

Looking at Marine Traffic info, the Danes currently have 3 naval ships docked in Nuuk,

1) Ejnar Mikkelsen

2) Knud Rasmussen

3) Vaedderren
EDIT:

The Danes also look to have another warship off the north-west coast of Iceland

And another off the Faroe Islands.

At what point does the argument come up that Iceland needs to acquire some more 'robust' naval ships?
Perhaps Canada should take them over as a Protectorate? Other than bring strategic, Iceland doesn't have mineral resources or oil. They should have better defences though. Perhaps a place to base Canadian F-35's?

Interesting idea about stationing F35's there. Keflavik was used by the US until the early 2000's.
What about stationing a few of our P8's out of there? Add them to the F35's.
Someone had talked about a Naval Station out of Nuuk, would Iceland instead make any sense? Could there be a case for some of the future ice capable CDC's stationed there and the subs having a refueling station out of Iceland?

There's a good reason why Iceland doesn't have a Army or Navy, its not part of their national identify. Stationing fighters in Iceland which happens from time to time is quite different than building a naval station there.

Iceland's defence posture is... interesting:

Defence of Iceland

Iceland has never participated in a full-scale war or invasion. Furthermore, the constitution of Iceland has no mechanism to declare war.
