The UK Type 26 is going to need all of the RCS minimization it can get given its lack of general capabilities lol.Yep, they took a smooth radar cross section and lego'd the hell out of it. Yes I know its going to have waaaay more stuff on it than the UK version but damn that angle looks cool and awful at the same time.
Don't disagree, I'm just mildly offended. As someone who paints miniatures for a hobby angles of pictures matter, and you won't get a proper appreciation of the hull and superstructure shape until you see it from various angles (walk around). The UK Type 26 is going to need all of the RCS minimization it can get given its lack of general capabilities lol.
Same tonnage as WWII light cruiserI am sorry, NavyShooter. I just look at your models and can't help but think: God! Those are going to be big bastards.
Nulka decoy launchersWhat is the short 8 cell immediately forward of the mast and on top of the hangar?
I remember when the Zumwalt first launched, it was amazing to see how smooth and featureless it was...Yep, they took a smooth radar cross section and lego'd the hell out of it. Makes me think that they should choose all the equipment for the CDC first and then build the ship around that. Of course CDC equipment will likely be less complicated and there will be a lower number of systems onboard.
Way less cool without guns. It looks like a floating KKK hood with big ears…I remember when the Zumwalt first launched, it was amazing to see how smooth and featureless it was...
Then I saw it a few years later when all the nav radars and satcom domes were installed, and yea, less cool.
That profile makes it look like a star destroyer... which is cool in its own way.I remember when the Zumwalt first launched, it was amazing to see how smooth and featureless it was...

I dunno, some of those French frigates are just gorgeous. But certainly not as impressive.
That is quite the hobby you've got!The first R/C Version is coming along well - you can see the puddle of putty required so far. (Much more to follow....)
I've got the 4 hull modules printed and two of the Superstructure modules. We'll see how this goes.
Oh, and the custom props I ordered from the US have shown up along with the shaft lines (UK) and motors.
If you want one too....that can be arranged....LOL.That is quite the hobby you've got!
I've been at Rotary Centennial Pond at Burlington's Spencer Smith Park when these fellows have been there displaying their models. Usually a great turn out and much loved by the young kids watching it all unfold. If you want one too....that can be arranged....LOL.
I can print and pack all the bits and mail it off to you....add the props/shafts/RC gear plus paint/putty/etc.
