Iran Super Thread- Merged

The world - is the rest of the world ok with that potential cost that they will have to bear.

The Strait of Hormuz is owned by no one - its always been under the Freedom of Navigation for the last 150-200 odd years. If this 'tolling' is allowed to occur then precedence has been made for other parts of the world and why would they not taken advantage to this.

England and France can charge every ship entering the English Channel.
Denmark and Sweden can charge every ship entering the Baltic
Turkey every ship entering the Black Sea
Spain and Morocco every ship entering the Straits of Gibraltar
This.

This has all the hallmarks of the mob collecting "protection money" from shopkeepers. For the US to even consider sanctioning Iran enforcing such a fee or taking a "cut" shows the moral bankruptcy of this administration.

😠

Good lord what a shit show.

And the Press Sec can't even say who is currently in control of the strait, dodged completely. Today has seen the lowest number of ships crossing since the 1st of April.

Schrodinger’s Strait? It’s neither definitely open nor definitely closed til you find out the hard way if you get a drone to the face?

I expect that over the day or two (maybe weekend), the bloom will come off the rose in the stock market and a substantial reversal of today's rise will occur if basic questions like; a) is the strait open to all and freedom of navigation is in place, b) is there or is there not a ceasefire and, c) what the f*ck is actually the longer term plan.

Iran's Speaker.

Sounds like the ceasefire is dead.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but some news sources are stating that at least some Iranian civilians were forming human chains at bridges and power plants yesterday as a result of the "bridge and powerplant" tweet. I'm not sure how much further that complicates things, seeing as threatening those sites was essentially a war crime to begin with...

If a facility wasn't a justifiable target, it's a "war crime" with or without the human shields.

If a facility was a justifiable target, it's a "war crime" to try to use human shields.

don't forget us! We can charge Washington for every ship travelling up the St. Lawrence heading for the States. :D :D

Forget TACO. This was a surrender.

The terrorist regime in Tehran is left in place with a young extremist Ayatollah.

Said regime is on full control of the Strait of Hormuz.

They are collecting billions in ā€œtollsā€, as opposed to the $1 billion of frozen assets they received as a part of the JCPOA. Remind me again who was against that.

Said billions will be used to re-arm and go full tilt for nukes.

Said regime will have its Gulf State competitors by the short and curries.

Said regime is in a stronger position now than it was before it was bombed.

To believe that this is anything but a strategic failure by the Trump Administration is delusional.
