And here I thought all the Battleships were retired.
Unless Trumps WWII aesthetics fixation has resulted in the all museum ships around the US being put back in service.

It is HMS Barham sinking in Med after being torpedoed. And here I thought all the Battleships were retired.

Sadly, it's probably going to take a change in government.Seems to me the Americans are faced with 3 choices, 4 if you include the non-option nuclear option.
1) Endless status quo low-intensity war as it has existed for the past 40-60 days
2) Some version of boots on the ground with the US bodies that the US public has no stomach for
3) Fold tents and sail away which this POTUS could never willingly do.
In Washington or in Tehran?Sadly, it's probably going to take a change in government.

For comparison, here's HMS Hermes returning from the Falklands in not as bad shape, but not that much better after a much shorter war.Photos of the USS Abraham Lincoln arriving in Thailand. There's a little bit of paint work to be done.
Technically he’s right, as Congress hasn’t declared war.The US is now into “it’s a special military operation” stage of talking points.
It’s only a “War” if it comes from the Capitol Hill region of DC. Otherwise it’s just a Sparkling Quagmire.Technically he’s right, as Congress hasn’t declared war.
LOL that wins the internet of the day award! It’s only a “War” if it comes from the Capitol Hill region of DC. Otherwise it’s just a Sparkling Quagmire.
When was the last time Congress declared a war?Technically he’s right, as Congress hasn’t declared war.
U.S. Central Command forces struck and disabled three Iranian oil tankers on September 5, hours after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy warships patrolling the region, according to a CENTCOM statement.
Both American vessels, an aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer, evaded the Iranian missiles, and no U.S. personnel were harmed, CENTCOM said. The command did not name the two ships involved.
In response, American forces permanently disabled two Iranian crude oil carriers, the M/T Downy off Kharg Island and the M/T Stark 1 near Jask, and completely destroyed a third, the unladen M/T Kylo, also known as the Noxen, in the Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM said forces struck the Kylo in multiple critical locations after its crew was ordered to abandon ship, rendering the vessel inoperable.
Sparkling quagmire it is then .Nah....hardly a war at all
