Traditional peacekeeping only works IF the opposing forces are compliant.
Lloyd A is so far removed from the coal face he has zero clues about the role or the cost.

I like Lloyd Axworthy but I get the feeling that his memory maybe slipping slightly. Perhaps conveniently.
Wasn't he a minister of the crown in the 1990s when the largest cuts to our various peacekeeping operations occurs. Strangely enough I don't recall hearing him complain particularly loudly then .
But of course I could be wrong....

Ok. this is not fair to our folks. The PLA, PLAN, and PLAAF have ceremonial marching contingents. THAT IS ALL THEY DO!!!!!
