How to make fuel even more expensive than it is now and put the bond selloffs into overdrive.
The US produces a magnitude more diesel than it consumes, all this would do is cause refineries to cut production down drastically or decide it would be a good time to go into deep maintenance mode.

Albeit gun laws are a major part of my American citizenship.
Also only some states.
We export a lot more diesel to the U.S. than we import from them. Most of the diesel used in New England is imported from Canada. Canada imports some to B.C. From the States.
It would be really stupid and self-defeating of the U.S. to not put in a carve out for bilateral diesel trade with Canada.

True, I would think that Alaska might be lacking.
We recently found a great one in the local Motel 6, of all places, in the town where my daughter goes to Uni in PA. Totally shady walking into the lobby of the Motel 6 (at least in the town....) and on through, but once in the restaurant, the food and drinks are top shelf. Endless home made chips and salsa!
