We still need to see whether this results in a move back toward the centre.

Because, IMHO, there is just as much destruction to be wrought by the extreme left. Then again, if history has taught us anything, it's that extremism is only a problem when the people you disagree with are the ones doing it.

I swear to god every election for the past twenty odd years has basically driven cottage prices up through the roof .

Fun fact - the last Democratic senator from Kansas was born in 1870 and held the office in the 1930s...I think this was a bigger swing than some here are alluding.

I saw something on Facebook about how this is the first time that Kansas has elected a Democratic Senator since a few years before the Wizard of Oz was released.

The democrats from Texas, Kansas, Iowa, and potentially Alaska and Mississippi may temper the more radical side of the party.
