Muleskinners

Okay, nobody here cares about this except me. 

My old unit, the 242nd Assault Support Helicopter Company (CH-47A), was named 'Muleskinners' during the Vietnam War.  The unit served in VN from 1966 to 1970 or 1971, then existed in the US until about 1979, when the company either changed the name or the unit was deactivated.

Now, a current Chinook company has offered to take up the Muleskinner name.

I don't know.  It's not a big deal, I guess.  I was surprised at how good it made me feel.

Just getting to be an old maudlin idiot, I guess.

OG - I would think that would be cool....


Better hope the animal rights movement doesn't catch wind of it.....    ;)
