I've been wondering when I would hear of someone else in or joining the
GS Foresters through this group. Its good to hear from you.
I tried to get in last year but I was a bit late and had to wait for
this winter instead.
I take it your from Barrie or somewhere close.
As far as fitness goes I was surprised. Based on age: Stair climb for
aerobic...no run. Push-ups, min 19. Sit-ups same.
Get it in gear though if you want to join. I start, as far as I know, at
the end of this month. If you miss the start date you will likely have
to wait like I did, for up to a year. Get your but down to the Barrie
Armouries as soon as you can and the recruiting staff will give you all
you need to know. You will watch a video, book a moron test,  and at an
interview with a Captain probably will choose a trade. Don't be
nervous about any of it though, from the Captain on down they all seem
to be good ****s. Are you looking for infantryman? Or something else.
I can tell you more if you can be specific but only about entrance.
The rest is all hearsay to me so far. You know, pushes on icy pavement
in bare hands if you join in the winter. Lots of guys...anyone can seem
to own you when your a new recruit yelling at you and calling you all
sorts of things and making you run around like a maniac to see how
miserable they can make you feel.
Better get back to work!
Talk later,
Rob A
