Ah yes, the old 'well if I have to do a section attack we're in big trouble / it's all over'. What about if your supposedly secure rear area is penetrated? What if your convoy is ambushed? Absolute nonsense.

Operational dress is also being revamped (see Soldier Operational Clothing and Equipment Modernization). As part of that, from what I've read, the Army Dress and Ceremonial Committee has been cutting down on what badges go on operational dress. The general move is towards less.

Out of curiosity, where did hear the dates & rollout type for the service dress? I had read elsewhere (briefing materials from the spring) that it would be by Corps / Regiment rather than unit. Has that changed? And has the timeline been established more firmly?

I wonder if we could experiment with a VR headset? I'm generally reticent to rely on electronics like that though, which will absolutely be N/S within a few days of being in theatre, but an interesting thought experiment never the less.
