Naval Officers Once Again to Wear the Executive Curl

In theory I'd support it (keeping in mind that the executive curl is still a rumour and not a fact) but it depends on the details I guess.  What are you thinking of?  Changing the current ranks to the older RCN ranks?  IIRC, there were only 6 ranks in the RCN so how would you accommodate the...

Should inform my CoC that I may VR.

Agreed.  Like most things - it's all situational dependent.

Less Than First Rate Journalism on MRAPS, Casualties

The journalist was a SGT with the 101st Airborne Division during the Iraq invasion (albeit as a military journalist for the division).  You would think that with his background he would know better. http://www.armytimes.com/entertainment/books/military_tigrisbook_070716w/

09/10 Budget Impact on PRes - Unit stand-downs, Class B Freeze, and so on!

1600 troops too many already, general says http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=2217536 1600 x $47232 (Pte(R) plus 50% for benefits) = $75.5 million.  That would explain a fair amount of the army's share (of the adjustments) of $80 million.  Just a guess.  :2c:

CT -- Reserves into ROTP/RMC (merged)

Not really but I checked with an RMS Clerk who specializes in releases/CT and she says that it still works that way.

CT -- Reserves into ROTP/RMC (merged)

I'm not ROTP but when I transferred from the militia to the regs that was the way it worked.  My "release date" was 1 day prior to my "enrollment date" so there was no break in service.  I imagine that ROTP works the same way but "your mileage may vary".

MEMOS:CFAO/DAOD or other source for the # of days it must be returned to the mbr

Wow - where to begin?  You believe the correct leadership is to insist that proper leadership is to use 728s to communicate with your subordinates?  Glad you're no longer with the Navy, we've tried hard to get rid of dinosaurs.  I hope your getting treatment for that Oppositional Defiant...

MEMOS:CFAO/DAOD or other source for the # of days it must be returned to the mbr

The suggestion to use a 728 is poorly thought out, whether in a 60 person submarine crew or a 7500 person base.  I called you and Occam on it.  Rather than accept that it was perhaps not the best plan, you both started attacking me.  I'm pretty sure I have never claimed to be anything more that...

MEMOS:CFAO/DAOD or other source for the # of days it must be returned to the mbr

Where'd that come from?  I already agreed with you that the old CF you served in bears no resemblance to my current experience.  In today's CF, having to submit memos with 728s to your CoC would be the sign of major problems.  The majority of today's generation would rather talk things out in a...
