Even though I am maxed out at 100% Disability so no more Funding from PSC, is it still worth it to do my upcoming VRAB Appeal hearing seeing there will be no monetary value from it? Just curious that's all whether it's worth the effort to do it or not?
I have an upcoming Appeal board and was wondering if I can get people's input on a question. Long story short, is it still worth it to go ahead with this Appeal hearing even though I am maxed out at 100% Disability with no more VAC funding as in lump sums? I was at the 85% Disability when I...
Well, the wait for the Lump Sum deposit after submitting the Election for Lump Sum Form surprisingly did not take 6 weeks as I thought it would. Mine took 3 weeks max. Not bad.
Mine's at the 3 week mark now and no sign of the monthly amount disappearing from Current Benefits yet. Looks like it's shaping up to be the "recent trend" of 5-6 weeks again ugh. There's nothing fast about VAC these days that's for sure. Same for Appeals. I was told I will have a 12-18 month...
Just a general question on IRB and Military Pension. I have VAC Awarded conditions for Mental Health and also several Physical Conditions. Seeing I am an Annuitant with 20 years Reg Force service Pension, would it be worth it if I apply on IRB? I was MCpl Spec Pay upon Release 10 years ago and I...
I've had claims before at Step 3 that were eventually Denied, unfortunately. I always Appeal though which usually ends up Favourable. The only downside to having to Appeal is the excruciating long wait.
Long story short....if you already waited a year and a half for a VAC claim that got Denied...
VRAB is doubly slower these days it seems for waiting on Appeal Board hearing dates. Mine was Registered with VRAB last May 2024 and they advised me today that there is a 12-18 month wait just for a Hearing date! That is pathetic and a painful wait. Might as well just go on with life and forget...
I have an Additional Monthly Amount, but it stems from a Disability Award I received in 2017 or 2018 and it cannot be taken as a Lump Sum. Mine is a small amount like $35.67 or something like that.
In 2024, I had a Favourable Entitled condition for Hearing Loss. How does one go about getting Hearing Aids? What is the process or what is the steps in order to get the Hearing Aids, seeing that VAC should cover them given I have an Entitled condition for Hearing Loss. Could someone tell me how...
Yes, definitely. I would send an email to the Law Firm Stewart McKelvey with your Service number, etc and have your name added. I am hoping this update on Fri, 10 January will be the one stating that we can now officially submit a claim. Fingers crossed.
I know a lot of members were/are asking about this CAF Racial Discrimination Class Action since it went to Court last July 2024 and I have an update today straight from the Law Firm itself below:
We will be providing an update on January 10, 2025. This update will be sent to all class members...
Speaking of Class Action cases, any word on the latest CAF Class Action for Racial Discrimination? It's been quite a few months now since they came out with it, but there hasn't been a word or update it seems about whether we can officially submit a claim yet. Any news?
Speaking of the Logan Class Action / SISIP one, I'm surprised I wasn't included in that Class Action as I was receiving PLD in the Halifax area for 6 years straight while in Reg Force, but never received a cent from this Class Action. I did contact the Lawyer Firm way back this year and they...
