There are provisions in "The Examination and Certification of Seafarers - TP 2293 E" published by Transport Canada for equivalencies of MARS Officer training and various NCM courses.

You do not have to pass the swim test in Basic to proceed on to your next phase of training. You will be given extra lessons to try and meet the standard if you fail, but even if you still couldn't pass the BMSS, you could still proceed to NETPO.
The course to which you are referring to is known as NETPO. The course is exactly the same for MARS and Logistics officers. The course isn't really meant to be physically demanding at all, there might be a few days on your sea phase where you might do some hands on work, but in no way is it...

I think the best prep for the MOST test is the same prep you would have done for the CFAT. The best thing about the NOAB is that there is no secret about what they are looking for in potential Naval Officer, they tell you on your first day.
To quote a current student at NOTC...
Naval Environmental Training Program - Officer. When you go for your NOAB you will get to tour the damage control school and get a good idea what its all about.
Hello Steve, I am assuming you have not attended the NOAB yet, when I write this. The scenario for the first couple of years for a regular force MARS officer that would be starting BMOQ on Sept 2009 went like this (According to the presentation at the NOAB):
