Has anyone had the experience of going from being an AME in the civilian world to joining the CAF as an AVN tech?  I work with a few who have done the reverse, AVN to AME, but just looking for some perspective from those who have gone the opposite route. Cheers

100,000k per year and 6weeks on/6 off are both correct.  I'm was an AME for a large helicopter company and those were the shifts for the guys doing tours overseas.

I took the civie course last year at NSCC and can answer a few of your questions.  When I was there the military had their own classes that were separate and were taught by different instructors than the civie program.  Also the course is run out of 4 Hanger at Shearwater. Cheers!

Some AEC's fly on the AWACs in Germany and the US, so that is another option if you really, really want to be air crew.

Anyone else being sworn in August 1st, in Halifax?

Seems to be lots of grumbling about the new IAP/BOTP.  I'm on the August 27th course and would be nice to know what's making people unhappy. EDITED for grammar.  :)
